Berkeley Catering celebrate Crystal Palace Business Club Partnership

South London food company enjoying the taste of football sponsorship

Berkeley Catering have partnered with the Crystal Palace Business Club, helping to showcase the company to a Premier League audience. Based in south east London, the partnership enables the business to display its branding during every home game at Selhurst Park, engaging with supporters on both a local and nationwide scale.

The catering company began as a family-run café around 25 years ago, before being renamed Berkeley Catering in 2007, under the ownership of Amit Patel. Offering a range of services from workplace lunches to supplying canopies for hundreds of guests, Berkeley Catering serve more than 100 clients each day, predominantly focussing on B2B clients. Amit Patel explained why the business chose to join the Crystal Palace Business Club:

“I think it’s the key club close to where we are, especially being based in south east London. We’ve highlighted that they’ve got an excellent fanbase, it’s a very well-supported club. I think we can all agree they’ve got a fantastic manager and some excellent players. We have a lot of football fans within the company as well, and we’ve all been happy with the partnership so far.”

The Crystal Palace Business Club stems from a partnership between Eleven Sports Media and the Football Club. As a Business Club partner, Berkeley Catering see their company branding displayed on crowd-facing digital LED boards, as well as featuring on StadiumTV and StatZone screens, located within the concourses. This approach allows the business to interact with supporters at various points throughout each game at Selhurst Park.

In addition to matchday brand exposure, all Business Club partners receive a selection of hospitality tickets and are invited to exclusive events, which have included guest speaker events at the stadium:

“The events are a great opportunity to talk business with other companies: to see how they manage their businesses; to see who their market is; perhaps some of the challenges they face as a business and how they plan to overcome those challenges. It’s also a way to promote the brand.”

Having seen the catering industry experience significant growth over the last decade, Berkeley Catering have maintained a strong customer base within central London. Able to offer a variety of food services and operating from a central production unit, Amit Patel believes these are key factors why the business has continued to succeed:

“The quality of our food, its freshness, and our flexibility are all USPs. We offer a core range of quality menus that suit our clients. A lot of our customers say that they’re very impressed with the fact that not only can we deliver a few sandwich platters, but we can also make hot food deliveries; afternoon tea; or have sushi delivered to your office.

“All the work we’ve done has helped create a strong brand. All our vans are branded, and all our drivers wear uniforms. That all helps play a key part in making sure our business is recognisable throughout central London.”
