Essex-based mastic company teams up with the home of West Ham United

JM Sealant Contracts have secured a partnership with the London Stadium Business Club, helping to establish links with West Ham United. The partnership provides the locally-based business with big-brand exposure, showcasing the company’s logo to the London Stadium’s 60,000 capacity during every West Ham home game, as well as being broadcast to an international audience.

Owner of JM Sealant Contracts, Jason Macklin has been working in the mastic business for over 20 years and started the company five years ago. Based in Grays, Essex, the success of the business has seen Macklin open a second office in the Midlands; establish an accompanying cleaning service; and gain 50 employees since forming the company.

Macklin explained why the London Stadium Business Club appealed to JM Sealant Contracts:

“The London Stadium Business Club is very good for us because I’m a West Ham fan. We get quite a lot of work through West Ham but our name being shown at the stadium is like the icing on the cake. People are seeing our name out there. In particular, the night games are fantastic when our name lights up on the boards and outside the ground.

“It’s made a big difference, especially with our clientele, because everyone recognises us a lot more. When they go on our website and see the scope of the work we do, they’re all over the moon. We’ve got a lot of work from it.”

As a Business Club partner, JM Sealant Contracts see their branding broadcast on mid-tier LED screens; StadiumTVs screens located within the concourses; as well as appearing on a larger LED board at the front of the London Stadium. This multi-layered approach allows fans to engage with the company’s branding at various points throughout each match.

JM Sealant’s branding has drawn positive feedback from clients and Macklin spoke on how this has helped benefit the business:

“All of our signs are claret and blue and that’s had a huge impact. A lot of people think, ‘He’s a West Ham fan and he’s got his claret and blue signs everywhere’, so it bodes very well with supporters.

“I like the StadiumTVs because I take clients to games and my seats are right by the screens. Every client we bring there says, ‘You’re on the TV.’ But I get the most amount of comments about the big screen at the front of the stadium; everyone tells me, ‘Your company’s just been out here.’ It’s fantastic.”

In addition to the matchday brand exposure, all London Stadium Business Club partners are invited to exclusive events, which have included a Q&A evening with Sir Trevor Brooking. The purpose of these events is to provide Business Club members with opportunities to network with like-minded companies.

“The events have been fantastic. I can’t fault them. It’s very friendly. It’s almost like you’re going out to dinner with your friends, not colleagues. Everyone’s made it very easy, warm, and welcome”, Macklin said.

“I definitely enjoyed the Trevor Brooking event at the London Stadium because it’s who we’re a partner with. It was a really nice night; Sir Trevor Brooking is a legend and to be part of an event at the London Stadium was special.”

With all Business Club partners being granted the full use of the London Stadium Business Club logo, Jason Macklin believes this has helped add weight to the JM Sealant brand:

“That little logo does make a big difference. It makes us more professional, especially given the way we’re promoting it within our web-pages and headed letters. When people see that that we are an official partner of the stadium, it makes a big difference to us.”
