Yorkshire-based car broker drives ambition through football sponsorship

Nucar is a Leeds based independent new car broker in the heart of West Yorkshire. Nucar is now a proud Leeds United Business Club Partner. Their work is focussed around providing customers and businesses alike with incredible savings on their new car purchases.

Nucar prides itself on not only obtaining customer’s huge savings on their new vehicle(s) but also offering up to date impartial advice. Nucar was built upon word of mouth and existing customer referrals (which shows they must be doing something right), however, their new association with the Leeds United Football Club really is the next step from a brand awareness perspective, as the Nucar branding is now displayed to more than 30,000 fans during every match day at Elland Road.

The company was formed by Julian Howarth (Managing Director) in 2012, stemming from helping family, friends and clients of co-owned Novis & Co Chartered Accountants (also based in Leeds), with their new car purchase. Howarth explains:

“We’re far from just a money-saving tool, yes we often help save our customers an incredible amount of money, but more importantly, it’s their precious time saved that helps immensely, and you simply can’t quantify that!… We’re able to reassure our customers of an incredible new car deal, without having been hounded by retail sales individuals at the relevant dealership. Plus our customers seem to appreciate our impartial advice as we aren’t linked to one particular brand, we’re able to offer savings across numerous makes/models.” That way, our customers receive a great deal on their new car without the uncomfortable haggling process.”

The Leeds United Business Club is formed through a partnership between Eleven Sports Media and the Football Club that sees clients’ branding displayed throughout Elland Road. Nucar branding is displayed within varied advertising around the ground on match day. This is displayed on crowd-facing LED boards, and appears on the Stadium TV and Stat TV screens located within the concourses, allowing the business to interact with fans at various points throughout every game.

As a Business Club partner, Nucar is also invited to exclusive networking events that have included Q&A evenings with club legends such as Eddie Gray. The business club partner is also provided with a selection of matchday hospitality tickets throughout the season.

Additionally, the company features on Stat Tracker social media content that is shared on the club’s official Twitter feed. This approach sees the company gain brand exposure via social media, and helps to form a wider relationship between the company and Leeds fans, an aspect that Julian Howarth (an avid Leeds fan himself) is keen to promote.

Howarth explains:

“We include our association with the Business Club on social media whenever we can. We use the Business Club logo within our email sign-offs and is also present on our website ( The social media aspect is big! We often do ‘like and share’ campaigns for signed Leeds United merchandise, so definitely worth giving us a like/follow @nucarsavings on FB, Twitter and Instagram. For a relatively small company, the exposure is great!”
