Leeds United Partner Experience Takes Us Back To The 90s

Two of Leeds United’s first team stars from the 1990s were guests of honour in the Norman Hunter Suite at Elland Road for the Leeds United Partner Experience.

Jon Newsome and Noel Whelan both enjoyed success under the guidance of legendary boss Howard Wilkinson in the early 90s, Newsome winning the League Championship, while Whelan was a local prospect who famously helped the club win the FA Youth Cup against rivals Manchester United in 1993.

The pair shared tales of their exploits at Leeds United, with Whelan speaking of his pride at playing for his boyhood team, whilst Newsome revealed the real story behind Eric Cantona’s infamous departure from the club.

The Leeds United Partner Experience brought together all of the club’s partners for an evening of entertainment, including the Leeds United Business Club partners, who enjoyed the opportunity of a behind the scenes tour of the stadium before hearing from the Leeds legends.

Congratulations to Business Club partners Carl Shone from Vacuum and Pressure and Neil Garrett from Basement 68 Barbers who won a signed Leeds United signed ball and a bottle of Slingsby craft gin in the business card draw.
