Builders Merchants cement commitment to local area through Watford FC Regional Partner Programme

Oaktree Builders Merchants have partnered with the Watford FC Regional Partner Programme, providing the business with Premier League brand exposure throughout all the club’s home games at Vicarage Road.

Jad Pindoria started the company alongside his business partner in 1995, before becoming sole Director in 2015. Based in Edgware, the family business has become a staple of the community, serving local people for more than two decades.

Building upon their well-established reputation, the company’s association with Watford FC helps the builders merchants reach out to a wider audience.

“Watford are the Premier League club within our area and community, it was an easy decision to become part of the Regional Partner Programme”, Pindoria explained.

“Brand exposure is vital to the business. We’re not only aiming to reach out to builders. We offer a range of household goods as well, so not all our customers have to be tradespeople. It’s an opportunity for us to get our name out there amongst the community.”

The Watford Regional Partner Programme was formed through a partnership between Eleven Sports Media and the Football Club.

As a Regional Partner, Oaktree feature on crowd-facing boards at Vicarage Road, as well as StadiumTV and StatTV screens within the concourses, ensuring consistent engagement with Hornets supporters.

Football sponsorship helps to signify how much Oaktree has grown since the company was faced with a defining moment, early in its history:

“We suffered an unfortunate event, a fire”, Pindoria said. “That was a major crossroads for the business, in terms of its direction and turnover. Since then the business has grown its turnover 30 or 40% each year.

“When we first started, it wasn’t much more than a timber yard. Losing our building forced us to move into heavyside materials and completely changed the company.”

In addition to matchday brand awareness, Oaktree stay connected with the Watford FC fanbase via StatTracker social media content, which is shared to the club’s official channels. The business is also invited to exclusive partner events and has attended the club’s Player of the Year Awards.

Having worked in the building trade for several decades, being associated with Watford brings a sense of pride for Jad Pindoria:

“We’re not that far away from Vicarage Road, most of our work comes from the Watford area. We’ve been Watford Regional Partners for four years now and we’ve really enjoyed it. The football sponsorship has given us an added connection to our customers.

“We haven’t asked people if they’ve spotted us at Vicarage Road, but the amount of business that we get coming from within Watford has definitely grown, so it’s had an impact. Looking ahead to the future, the next step for us is to move into larger premises to help maximise our potential.”
